The Favourites: October

October Favourites

So, it might be the middle of November but I still had a few favourites in October that really stood out (I did receive a rather large amount of new products in October due to the *birthday* but more about that later…) so I’ll quickly run through them! Dolce & Gabbana’s “Dolce” perfume was the one I reached for most this month, it might be that I’m missing a certain someone who bought it for me and trying to compensate a little, but the light sweet floral scent is very suitable for the warm fall weather we’ve been having.  In terms of base I’ve been loving a mix of Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua with the Perfection Lumiere Velvet, seeing how I’m between shades mixing B20 and B10 makes for a perfect match while the finish is more glowy than PLV usually has but with a hint more coverage than VLA offers on it’s own.
To bring a little more colour to my face, since pallor is my middle name, I’ve been loving the Urban Decay Flushed in Streak the bronzer isn’t too orange nor is it too dark and the highlighter is great for perking up my sleep deprived face. The blush though is a bit too peachy for this fall weather so I’ve been opting for Chanel’s Rose Petal (99) Jouse Contarst blush, since I’m being lazy I just use an angled blush brush to apply the bronzer then I dip it in the blush and back for highlighter.
As the central heating starts to be turned on more and more my lips start getting chapped, other than drinking massive amounts of water, I’ve been using the Khiel’s Lip Balm #1 in Cranberry to help them out and for a hint of colour dabbing on MAC’s Plumful lipstick. The plummy, sheer shade in the Lustre formula is great for this time of year and light on the lips. If I feel like going for a fuller pout, or glossy laquer, a casual choice is Maybelline’s Colour Elixer in Captivating Carnation which is a soft rosy pink shade that wears beautifully and fades in a non shocking manner.
To add a little drama I’ve been loving a cateye with a black liquid liner, and Kat von D’s Ink Liner in Trooper has been a great one. This one has a sponge tip unlike the brush tip of the Tattoo Liner so it delivers a more intense black line. Just make sure you practice those wings!
Finally my skin has been not loving the cool-hot-cool-windy ahhhh weather so I slather on some of the Avene AntiRouge Calming Mask when ever it’s been too irritated but all of these changes.
