I just thought that I would give a little rant about five products I really, truly, undoubtedly adore. If you’re looking for a little gift to give yourself or need a last minute stocking stuffer idea or just feeling’ generous. I doubt that anyone wouldn’t be happy to get one of these – I know I wouldn’t!
With a little high-end, a little low-end there’s something for everybody. I’ll start off by my ultimate foundation, the one that I freak out and rush to the counter to buy when it’s on it’s last legs – Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua. There’s something about this formula, my first highend foundation purchase, that just never fails me. It sinks into the skin, gives a light but even coverage never cakes and always makes you look like you’re that much more healthy. Giving a foundation as a gift is tricky, because shades, but who doesn’t love a little Chanel? Hop to a counter with your whomever and get them matched or steal some of their foundation (one they love!) and use a tool like findation to find a colour match; since it’s such a light coverage there’s a good margin for errors. If foundation is a little much for you (money or commitment!) there’s always the legendary Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector yes, it’s a mouthful but what a product. These glossy/balm hybrids smell amazing and give the lips that boost of moisture they need in the chilly winter months along with a hint of colour and a pretty sheen. I’m partial to shade 01, but 02 is gorgeous too.
Off to slightly less expensive products that are still a luxurious thing is the Rituals Touch of Happiness Body Cream I won’t ramble on about how amazing it smells (a-m-a-z-i-n-g) but the rich smooth cream is a real treat post bath or shower, there’s a matching shower oil and a scrub in the range as well as a candle. If buying makeup is too much of a commitment, but your intended git receiver is a lover of beauty this is a great alternative to that Sephora/SpaceNK gift card you hand was itching to buy.
Lastly, the Loreal Miss Manga Mascara is my favourite out of all the mascaras (yes, including Chanel/YSL/Lancome) the packaging isn’t too shabby if a little kistchy but the brush and formula combo is where it’s at. Full, separated and black lashes are always on point – and in the holiday season even more so. Also, I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like or need a mascara. If none of the previous four worked for you (say What?!?) then spring for some fast dry nail varnish drops, because even if she has everything – a fast drying mani is every girl’s dream. I’m partial to the Bourjois Instant Dry but there are some great offerings from Sally Hanson and Essie too.
