January Favourites

So January’s over. Whoosh. That went by fast!
In terms of favourites this month hasn’t been very interesting, since my skin has been freaking out *why?!?* and thus I’ve been scrambling for my hight coverage foundation and a pretty pink lip to distract from some unsightly blemishes, skincare has definitely been my top priority with loads of moisture giving goodness. Want the details? Keep reading

I’ll start of with skincare, from the ‘net-famous Hydraluron to really punch up those moisture levels to calm down the angry red spots. The hyluronic acid really helps the skin absorb moisture from my nighttime cream Origins Night-A-Mins which is a thick rich cream that feels beautiful on the skin after a good cleanse I like to spend a bit of time massaging it in to the skin. To make sure everything is clean but not dry – can you sense a theme here?  Moisture. Yeah. I’ve been using the Una Brennan Superfacialist Anti Blemish Mask which, unlike the usual clay mask, is packed with salicylic acid and is moisturising.
The most important of the bunch has got to be Hand Sanitiser, with so much activity on my face keeping things as clean as possible has been a major priority this month. Soap & Glory’s HandMaid is perfect, smells nice and doesn’t leave my hands dry after use.
In terms of makeup I’ve been keeping it minimal, as less stuff on the skin is bound to do it some good. To cover up I’ve been reaching for Make Up Forever’s Mat Velvet + which is a full coverage oil-free, waterproof foundation that covers every thing without evoking a resemblance to cake. To touch up on the go I’ve been using the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder, which has some coverage but not much and leaves a velvety finish that pure awesome. To punch up the look I’ve been reaching for a very glam lipstick, the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in Pink in Paris a pretty coral pink that’s super flattering on me; the packaging is just an amazing bonus.
I’ve been keeping my hair happy (and semi-clean) with the help of an old favourite – Big Sexy Hair’s Volumizing Dry Shampoo which gives hair that bump it needs with a bit of a clean thrown in. It also smells like heaven.

So January’s been a bit of a blah month on the beauty month, February though? That’s one I’m excited for!
