An Ode to: Hourglass Ambient Light Blush

hourglassblushpaletteOh, Hourglass. It’s hard not to love their products, what with the luxe packaging and beautiful formulas. I had been on the fence as to which blush to get – at 35$ a pop it’s a bit steep, and when the palette came out I knew it was the solution for me. I’ve been playing with it for the past month and so far? I’m singing it’s praises. Enter a new series of posts here on Holy Lipstick, ‘An Ode To’ – Today it’s for the Ambient Light BlushThe full range features 6 shades, with the palette containing two of them and one limited edition shade. There are several comprehensive reviews of the range online, with my favourite being The Beauty Look Book’s offering. The formula is where it’s at – creamy, smooth and pigmented powders with more grab to a brush than the Ambient Powders. The palette has Luminous Flush, Incandescent Electra and Mood Exposure. The best part about the palette is that you can easily mix and match the shades and create a custom flush that’s like no-other.hourglassblushswatchIf you’ve never encountered the Ambient Light line – then this is a line of blushes made of a mix of pigmented colour and highlighter, infused with “photoluminescent technology” that creates depth and dimension. All of them are hand made, no two are alike. The palette is great way to experiment with the line in my opinion, it’ll take a while to finish it of and you can stare at the *pretty* all day long.

However, if you’re set on getting just one I’d go for either Mood Exposure, a unique plummy shade or Luminous Flush  a soft rose shade. Since I own the both, the next one on my list is Diffused Heat!

Have you tried these blushes? What are your thoughts?

    • It’s the most unique of the bunch that’s for sure, I find that since I’m so pale using it means cutting back on the bronzer 🙂

This palette looks so stunning. I was debating purchasing their blushes since they do cost an arm and a leg but they look to beautiful to pass up.

    • Too good to pass up – if you’ve ever found Nars Orgasm to be too glittery, but don’t like how flat a matte blush can look those are for you.

these look so gorgeous but i think i’d have to look online if i wanted to get one!

    • I think the best time to get these would be when there’s a nice offer on – so if you’re from the UK when there’s some sort of goodie bag or voucher from SpaceNK or if you’re US based the Sephora 15% off event that happens twice a year.

But they are so worth it!
