I’ve been in the soul-sucking vortex that is exam period for the past month, add in work and it’s been overall a bit miserable. But! Fear not – that’s what Sephora is meant for; retail therapy anyone? Here are the bits I ordered from the good old USA, helpfully shuttled across the world in my mother’s suitcase.
I’ll start off with the thing that’s creating the most “buzz” the Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette a gorgeous all matte eyeshadow palette that has been making the rounds. A comprehensive review will follow – but so far? It’s a everything people say it is. Because I was obviously on a little bit of a Tarte binge, I went for the newly released Tarteist Clay Paint Liner it comes with the brush and unlike every other gel/cream liner it’s in a tube and not a pot. Maybe this one won’t dry out as fast is my one main hope. Keeping with the theme (and my crappy, exam-stress skin) the Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation SPF 15 also joined my order. I went for the shade Light Beige and let’s hope its a match. I then added a backup of my trusty Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla since I experience mild panic at the thought of running out. Since I watched Nikki Tutorials reveal her no-crease concealer trick a bit of the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder had to be added to the cart. With my eyebrows being a little on the sad-side lately the ever so loved Brow Wiz in Ash Brown may or may not save the situation – more on that later. To end this madness I decided that the small sized Fresh Seaberry Moisturising Face Oil was the one to order after a bit of deliberation, since I want to try the Pai Rosehip soon but really enjoyed the Fresh sample I have.
With my pockets emptied out at Sephora, I asked for a few other things. My favourite mascara, L’oreal Miss Manga – in Blackest Black and Black Angel from the drugstore. Since I fell in love with the Oribe Dry Texturising Spray (mum’s a convert as well now, but a post about this in the future), I asked if she would pick up the Oribe Surfcomber Mousse for me as it’s said to be magical.
My Boyfriend surprised me with a “So, what do you want?” at my local Clarins counter. I went for even more base products – as can be expected. The Clarins Instant Concealer that was all the rage a couple of months back in 01 (I’m a ghost!) and the Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in 01 which has a pinky, rose tint that’s meant to even out squinting and give a nice radiance without any shimmer.
I’ve been bad, but this is all oh so pretty that I really can’t fault myself – I deserve it, exams are rough. Have you splurged on anything recently? Tell me so I can add stuff to my ever growing wishlist!
