There’s nothing like a beautiful handbag, and the Proenza Schouler PS11 Mini that I was lucky enough to receive as my birthday gift is no exception. It’s my go to bag for popping out to do a few errands, grab coffee with friends or pop in for that 1.5 hour seminar meeting I’ve got on Thursdays. It’s a small little thing – so you’ve got to be super efficient in what you pack. Here’s my ultra thought out bag contents + a mini bag review if your considering this modelLet’s start from the beauty bits, since that’s the bulk of the bunch. To keep my eyebrows nice and tidy I’ve got the ultra tiny Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brown with what must be the best spooley ever on one end and a great eyebrow pencil on the other it’s a lifesaver. To keep my fave in check I’ve got the Bourjois Healthy Mix Powder in 52 Vanille and my favourite concealer of the moment the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla for application purposes I have a mini Bobbi Brown Set/Conceal Brush that I got from a Sephora code. For some cheek/lip saving I’ve a mini of the Josie Maran Argan Infinity Oil in Everlasting Honey, some lip balm in the form of the BodyShop Aloe Lip Balm and for a punchy bit of colour a mini of the NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Yu. I usually keep a rollerball perfume for smelling-nice purposes and in this case it’s the Elizabeth & James Nirvana White. All of these are housed in a mesh pouch from Muji.
I can’t keep a full-sized wallet so I keep a card-case with my cards and a bit of cash. This one is an oldie from Coach, but there are a few nice ones available from Asos to Whistles. I also keep a pen on hand and a handkerchief for a variety of purposes. This pretty pink and white one was purchased in Japan and is from “Lanvin”. Let’s not forget my iPhone and a pair of headphones, and the best of all? My Celine “New Audrey” Sunglasses. Everything fits perfectly into the bag, but not much more can be added. I’ll swap the lip products for whatever floatsmy fancy for that day, but otherwise this stays the same.
Let’s talk about the bag, the Proenza Schouler PS11 Mini. There’s a big main compartment, which is accessed by lifting the top flat that’s got a magnetic closure, where there’s a small zippered pouch where I like to keep my phone. On the back there’s anther zippered pocket, but I tend to not use it unless it’s for slipping in a card or my passport when traveling as anything else will alter the shape of the bag. There’s also a pocket in the front, which can be opened by unlocking the front metal closure that wraps around the bag. I never use it as it’s far too much of a hassle to open and close it.
It’s got a long shoulder strap that’s adjustable so it can become a cross body or a shoulder bag. Since I’m short (about 1.53 cm/5’1 ft) the fact that it’s adjustable is great, since some cross body bags can be too long on me and sometimes I like to rock the cross body high up worn front and centre like in street style shots. Because I’m cool.
The model of the bag that I’ve got features a padded and quilted top panel, that I find makes it really unique. The leather isn’t smooth, but isn’t textured like the Prada Saffiano leather, it’s a lightly pebbled leather that’s slightly susceptible to scratches but isn’t as delicate as the smooth Chanel bags for example.
I’ll leave you with a few gorgeous shots of the PS11 Mini being worn by awesome people.
