The Spring Edit

springeditWith Easter (or Passover!) already past us Spring is officially in full swing. This means warmer weather, sunny skies and a bit of a makeup refresh needed. What are the key bits to my Spring time spruce up? A brightening pen, a bit of powder and a pretty lip balm.I’ve already expressed my love for the Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight, it’s a subtle highlighter that melts into the skin so it’s perfect for the day time.  Some healthy glow that know one will be able to trace as makeup? Sign me up. Spring to me means a bright eyed and bushy tailed look, light and airy with a pop of colour – kinda like those flowers that are making their presence known (via pollen, ack allergies) but instead of rocking the teary-eyed, sniffling look I’d rather stick on some seriously brightening magic. That magic comes in the form of the YSL Touche Eclat I like the shade 2.o as its spot on for me, a quick smidge under the eyes, near the nose and in the corners of the mouth and I look like I’ve been chugging that water and am healthier than ever. With the weather heating up, the sweat starts to appear, enter a good ‘ol powder – the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder in 52 Vanille does a good job at keeping things nice and skin-like without being ineffective. To combat the sun’s rays always go for an SPF – the La Roche Posay Anthelios line is awesome, lightweight and boasts an SPF of 30.
Lastly there’s two lip options – because options are always a good thing.  I like MAC’s Patisserie for a pink nude that looks nice and natural with a hint of a sheen. The real winner is Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 in Tulip with a moisturising formula, a gorgeous smell (lemony goodness) and a pop of pink for the lips.

What’s in your spring time make up refresh?
