Around 2 weeks ago I was lucky enough to scoop up some amazing items on a blogsale – with the Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser being one of them. While I’m putting the rest of the “haul” to the test, I thought I’d share my preliminary thoughts about this little guy. Summer is just around the corner and nothing beats a tinted moisturiser for hot sweaty weather. So, is the Chantecaille Just Skin any good? In on word YES. In many words? Keep reading.I’ve got the shade Bliss which is spot on for my NC-20ish skin (Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk in 4.0 is my JAM), so score on the shade matching. It’s not too pink or too yellow, doesn’t oxidise or pull orange at all. The Just Skin is, as the name suggests, just skin with a light coverage that even out squinting but doesn’t cover and being a tinted moisturiser that’s to be expected. It’s a very nourishing formula, so perfect for dry or dehydrated skin types but even then I’d say powder down the t-zone or you’ll get a bit too sheeny mid day.
It’s a bit thicker than the CC or BB creams you see around, the formula is almost a bit mousse like in a way. I really enjoy it on slap dash days with just a bit of concealer where I need it, if I’m honest that’s on at least 30% of my face, because it leaves the rest of my face looking like real skin. I’m also very partial to the packaging, a nice opaque tube that doesn’t dispense too much product. It’s easy to think you’ll need more than you really do with this so start with a little bit and squeeze out more as you go. Surprisingly this can be layered a little bit to build up certain parts to a more light-medium coverage but not more than that. So far, I’ve tried this out about 5 times and really enjoyed it. It’s got SPF 15 which is nice – but I always use a separate SPF in the summer so I’m not relying on it. Is it worth the price tag? Perhaps. If you’ve got dry skin, even in the summer, and like light coverage that really does look like skin than try it out and decide.
Have you tried this product? What did you think about it – let me know!
