The Favourites: March + April

DSC_4314So last month I simply hadn’t gotten around to putting together a monthly favourites – it was a mix of things that led to it. Mainly that I had been testing some new bits and playing around with my look, meaning that there weren’t any solid favourite products. So April was a bit better than March, and I had some stand out products that I’ve been reaching for all month long.

A slight mishap took place while I was filming this – and the last bit got lost into the wide vast nothingness where bits and bytes go when the disappear off memory cards. It’s a bit frustrating but alas you’ve gotta roll with the punches. My spiel about water bottles and how important it is to drink is not present in the video but I’m sure you’re all familiar with the importance of hydration.

So which products made it to the list these two months? In the base department a unique mix of the Chanel Perfection Lumiere VelvetTarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation and Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base applied with the Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush for a flawless base that’s nice and glowy with a comfortable full coverage. For extra bright under eyes I’ve fallen back in love with the YSL Touche Eclat (02) after a good amount of time without it. To make sure nothing moves or melts there I’ve been setting it with the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder and Bobbi Brown Eye Blender Brush which in my opinion works far better than a damp beauty blender. I randomly picked up the Maybelline Brow Drama mid way thru April and have been so happy with this brow gel I wonder why I didn’t pick it up earlier. The Christian Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm has both saved my lips and given me a nice everyday luxury with a rose scent. The MV Organics Rose + Booster may be expensive but it’s raved about for a good reason – a concentrated rose oil that’s sure to solve your dehydrated skin problems in two drops a night. With Spring (and Summer) making their presence known these past months I’ve been liberal with the Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt. It’s the perfect scent for this time of year, fresh and salty with a cool vibe. To relax at night I’ve been burning the Diptyque Tuberose Candle (Coloured Version) despite the fact that candles aren’t that appropriate in the warmer months there’s this magic in the slightly sexy Tuberose scent. Finally, to make sure my hydration is up to par the CamelBak eddy water bottle has been a saviour. Easy, light and most important comfortable to drink from with it I get my 3 litres of water a day with zero effort.

What have you been loving for this past month? Anything that’s struck your fancy from my favourites?

Words cannot describe it! If you’ve got the chance to pop by a counter I highly recommend giving it a whiff.
