Currently Loving

DSC_6510There’s no Sunday video today – I’ve got a special one coming on Thursday that needs some extra production and editing. So instead of my usual ramble via video I thought I’d share some of the products I’m currently loving, and there’s a few I’ve kind of went from mehhh to OMG over.Let’s start with the base shall we? I’m continuing my with tinted moisturiser thing with what must be the ultimate tined moisturiser – Chantecaille Just Skin. I’ve reviewed it, and while yes it’s a sheer almost nonexistent base it does what I want it to; evens out the skin and lets it breathe. Because my skin isn’t perfect it needs a bit of extra coverage, just a bit in some troublesome areas, and the Charlotte Tilbury the Retoucher is amazing for that. As it’s a pen I expected something like YSL’s Touche Eclat but oh boy is it a different story all together! This pen, if you get it a shade above, will highlight I’m sure but I’ve got it in a  shade that matches my skintone to a T. This formula is amazing, it gives you coverage when tapped onto the skin and it doesn’t cake up on flakey patches which score. For the under eyes it’s been the Clarins Instant Concealer all the way, like with the CT one I tap it in to the skin for a flawless and natural finish.
For some extra glow there’s the Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow primer, in my quick review I wasn’t sold on it. I liked it but wasn’t blown away or anything, but that’s changed now. I love to mix this in with a bit of extra Just Skin for building a bit of coverage and adding glow, I also tap it onto the high points of the face and down the bridge of my nose. Gotta get my glow on somehow.
The Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in Streak has the best bronzer I’ve found for me, I like to grab a big fluffy brush and go to town. It’s a great way to bring in some shape to the face without an actual contour, the blush in this one is fine but a bit too peachy for me and the same goes for the highlight. Those’ll do in a bind but if there’re other options I’ll reach for those.
For the eyes it’s been an easy, smudgey bronze eye with the Max Factor Excess Shimmer Cream Shadow in Bronze in a light wash across the lid or built up for some extra pow. To define the eyes and line them a bit By Terry’s Ombre Blackstar in Brown Perfection is the greatest thing ever. This shadow stick is nice and creamy with minimal shimmer, it can be used as a shadow or a liner. I like to line the inner rim of the eye both top and bottom and to smudge in some along the lash line on both. For the lips the Bite  Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Meritage, I got it last year in a Sephora kit but didn’t really use it, is perfect as it’s a reddy-rose-brick that works great full on or smudged into the lips for a stain.

Those are my currently loved items – but beauty is a fleeting thing, this might just change within a day or two!
