Fall Time Switches

Summer to Fall SwitchesIf you’ve missed it, by any chance, Fall is here.
From all the fall inspired make up tutorials all over the ‘tube to the slightly cooler weather and let’s not forget the onslaught of holiday sets that are coming in. So It’s time to make a few switches to the routine? Here are the products that are coming in, and those that’ll go to the back of the stash.

The nails when fall comes in means we can finally go back to darker, vampy-er nails. It’s time to turn in the bright, fun shades and use my all time favourite shades the dark ones. I’m opting for one of my favourites from Essie’s winter collection from two years ago I think. After School Boy Blazer is a beautiful deep navy blue that looks black but isn’t, as usual with Essie’s formula it lasts a good 5-7 days with minimal chipping.
With the base it’s time to turn in the tinted moisturisers for foundations with a bit more coverage. As much as I love the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue the days of barely there coverage due to the heat are gone, instead formulas with a bit more coverage that still have some glow are totally on the list – enter the Dior Skin Star. I loved it last winter and don’t expect it to change with the leaves changing colour.
Lastly there’s lips. As much as I love a good balm – especially ones that are reactive like the Clarins My Pink, it’s finally time to crank out those darker reds and wine tones. NARS Cruella is one of the best shades available, it’s dark but not too dark and red but not a bright red. Just neutral enough to work on any skin tone and utterly beautiful.

That’s it, summer is officially gone and now longer with us. Let’s rejoice with the change of makeup wardrobe and play around with some different tones…

  • Nars Cruella is amazing! I also love Dragon Girl from the same line 🙂 and if you’re looking for a really dark purple Train Bleu is gorgeous.

I really want to try out Train Bleu! It’s such a departure from my usual lip colours and a little scary but… Gotta get it

  • I think I may have to invest in Cruella this winter, it’s such a pretty colour!

    Maddy, xo

Oh you must! It’s that suits-all red that’s not too bright and but not quite vampy.
