I’ve already made it quite clear that I love the Matte Revolution lipstick range from Charlotte Tilbury. I got this shade in London, and at the time was deliberating between Bond Girl and this. The decision was made for me by the lovely girl at the counter, who upon hearing my dilemma announced “Love Liberty!” and was off to collect it for me. Why is this shade so great that it warrant a post you may wonder, here’s why..
I won’t continue my ramble about the formula – in a nutshell; it’s matte but not flat, stays put but isn’t drying and it has the greatest bullet shade in the world.
Let’s talk about Love Liberty specifically shall we? On Charlotte’s website it’s described as “a wild rose-flush for wildly glamorous nights a la Jerry Hall and Uma Thurman” so, what is a wild rose flush exactly? I’d say it’s a deep berry toned red, with a pinkish undertone. To me it’s suited for both glamorous nights and days since I’d never put a time-cap on wearing a lipstick out. I’d say it’s a great shade to try if you like your more berry tones, and find orange based reds to be a bit off on you. On me it’s super flattering when I’m pale, and trust me I’m pale at the moment, or when I’ve gone a little overboard with the bronzer.
While it isn’t the type of shade that’s super easy to wear and it’s not the grab and go sheer nude that you’d toss in a handbag, it is glorious. For me it’s a go-to when I’m feeling a bit more dramatic or when I need a boost of colour to my skin.
Have you tried Love Liberty? Been thinking about it or maybe a different shade from the range, let me know in the comments!
