I’ve already admitted to being a bit of a foundation junkie. I just love the stuff – be it full coverage or a tinted moisturiser I’m willing to try it out. As with all things beauty I’m still on the search for the perfect foundation currently there’s one sitting on the throne but it may be overtaken at any moment. So if you’re curious about my foundation collections just watch.
I’ve got a lot of foundations I’ll give you that, but truly I love them all – or love to mix them in with others but more on that topic in a later post. If you aren’t in the mood to watch but would rather read here are the foundations (and my thoughts) in order of appearance!
The Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation in B10 & B20 was my first foray into foundations, I had received a sample and was head over heals. It gives a nice amount of coverage, I’d say light to medium, and has the most natural finish ever. It’s great skin in a bottle – a very small and handy one too.
Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet in B20 is the matter, heavier coverage sister of the previous foundation. It’s lightweight but packs a punch. The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 4.0 is a much spoken about foundation across the web, I find that it’s luminous but not dewy and photographs well. It’s not really suitable for day to day wear in my opinion.
The Dior SkinStar Foundation, I have it in 010, was released around a year ago and has nice velvet finish with medium to full coverage. It’s a great choice for the normal to combo crowd but oxidises so check your shade match. I loved the Tarte Full-Coverage Amazonian Clay Foundation in Light Beige when I had more breakouts for the full coverage but light light feel. It has an amazing mousse lick texture and can be applied sheer or heavy without getting cakey. The Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick (3.25) is no longer manufactured, but it’s design makes for easy application and touchups on the go, I loved the more hydrating formula of the past and find today’s reformulation to be too drying.
In discovered the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue in 02 Vanilla in the summer and loved it. It’s hydrating and gives decent coverage – and that SPF30 is amazing for lazy days. The Chantecaille Just Skin in Bliss is a cult product that receives raves worldwide, while I don’t think the price tag justifies it it’s a great product for finicky skin. It’ll even out skintone and give a nice natural healthy finish we all want. Glossier Skin Tint in Light is exactly what it says on the tin – a tint. L’Oreal Infallible 24hr Matte Foundation in 11 is from the drugstore and it’s matte! Shock and horror. I actually quite like this as it has a luminous finish despite it’s matte nature but I find the European shades to run very pink.L’oreal True Match Foundation in 01 Ivory is a recent purchase but I’ve been enjoying it thus far, it’s got decent coverage and a nice glow. This Walmart exclusive is hard to come by but it’s great the Flower Beauty About Face Foundation in LF1 was passed on to me by a friend and I’ve been loving it.My Holy Grail at the moment is the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation in 02 Fair with it’s glowy, dewy finish and smoothing out action as well as a perfect shade match how could I not?
Those are all the foundations currently in my collection – anything you’ve been curious about in there? Have you got any must have foundation for me to check out? Let me know in the comments!
