Sometimes you encounter a product that you simply cannot get enough of for me the Una Brennan Cleansing Oil is one of those. While it isn’t easy to get my hands on, sold exclusively in Boots, when I have the chance I stock up. It cleanses the skin without stripping, it’s great for morning or night and smells like something soft and citrusy. Have I piqued your interest? C’mon have a read.I’ll start off by describing my skin, I’ve got dehydrated-normal-dry skin with hormonal acne and the resulting marks those puppies leave behind. I’m fair skinned and become redder than Ruby Woo in a quick second, but I’m not sensitive in the slightest. On some days I pile on the make up like no other and on others I keep it nice and light. My mascaras of choice are usually quite difficult to remove, and I like to layer – a lot.
All of this means I ask a lot from a cleanser – I want it hydrating but not heavy, cleansing but not stripping, scented but not overwhelming. If it doesn’t come with a hefty price tag that’s all the better, but I also want good ingredients and non-leaking packaging (Grrrr Emma Hardie). I’d picked this one up a while back, sometimes last summer I think, and it lay in the back of my stash until I ran out of my Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel and tried the Una Brennan Cleansing Oil out. Mind. Blown.
If you’re unfamiliar with Cleansing Oils this is how it goes: take some in the palm of your hand, rub on dry face, add water to emulsify and rinse! I prefer rinsing with a muslin cloth of a flannel for less of a mess. It’s strange compared to the micellar waters of the world but it works. With this one all the stuff you slathered your face in is removed . Know what’s even better? You can happily do a double cleanse with it. No greasy residue involved here.
I’m not sure how much more I can go on and on about a cleansing oil really. This one took me a while to finish off, as I alternate quite a bit, but now that I’m on the verge of a new bottle… I had to celebrate my love for it. If you’re UK based pop on over to the nearest Boots and pick up this beauty – if you are not lucky enough you can find it on eBay sometimes.
