Everyday Makeup Look with a Bold Lip

Everyday makeup is something I adore. Some of us may love the super dramatic looks or the no-makeup makeup looks but for me it’s the everyday stuff that’s the best. There’s something so satisfying about being able to see what’s used day to day and how it all comes together. So here’s my everyday look – with a bold lip ’cause that’s how I roll lately.

The light base:

I love a light base with coverage added where needed. One of my favorite bases for evening out the skin while giving a good bit of glow is Glossier’s Skin Perfecting Tint. I take the shade Light and dot it liberally onto my face, blend it out with fingers or with a beautyblender. To cancel out those dark circles, curtesy of late nights and stressful days, I’ve been opting for a corrector.  The Giorgio Armani Master Corrector in 01 is perfect for someone with my skintone and purple-blue circles. For a bit more coverage where needed I love the BareMinerals BareSkin Serum Concealer. The formula is nice and creamy, I take the shade Fair as Light was a bit too dark.

A hint of color:

It’s the peak of winter and we all need some color to our faces. For a bit of bronze I reach for Chanel’s Les Beige Healthy Glow in n20. This creamy bronze stick has the best formula on the market and the shade is an exact match to my own natural tan. To sculpt my face a little, since that weekend pizza is making itself known, Kevyn Aucoin’s The Creamy Glow Duo in Candlelight/Sculpt does the job. A simple swipe of each and I’m set, just blend it all out and instant cheekbones. To bring some more color to my face Benefit’s Dandelion is the perfect blush shade to accompany a bold lip. This neutral pink tone with a hint of shimmer is one of the easiest blushes to pop on and get out of the house.

The simple eye:

We all love a single eyeshadow that does the work of 3 different eyeshadows. Chanel’s Gri Gri doesn’t disappoint with it’s taupey-purple shade that’s packed with a light shimmer that’s not glitters. Simply swipe it on and you’ve got a little something something on those eyes. To add some definition along the lash line you can’t beat a good old pencil liner. Charlotte Tilbury’s Rock’n’Kohl in Verushka Mink is deep enough to define but not so deep that it’ll compete with the eyeshadow. Last of all reach for your favorite mascara or the one your using at them moment if you’re like me despite your hate for it.

The bold lip:

Start off with a moisturized base, as if you’re going for a bold lip a good foundation is everything. I love Dior’s Creme de Rose for a hint of luxury that still takes care of your skin. A great bold lip starts with – liner. I know, a few years ago I would have skipped this but in recent months it has become crucial. This time I’ve gone with Colourpop’s Lip Pencil in Bichette, a deep true red. It’s a gorgeous shade with a very creamy formula and you could wear this solo if you wanted to. For extra drama on your run-of-the-mill day I added a liquid lipstick, these last all day and look amazing. Colourpop’s Ultra Satin Lip in London Fog is a bright red that leans a little pink in my opinion but on top of the liner it looks like a true, deep red.
