It’s not often that a sachet sample convinces me to purchase a full sized product – but a minuscule amount of the REN Flash Hydro-Boost Instant Plumping Emulsion made me run to order it. If you too struggle with dehydrated, dry skin I recommend trying this one out. Instantly plumped up and hydrated skin is a lofty promise but the REN Flash Hydro-Boost Instant Plumping Emulsion lives up to expectations and exceeds them…
I think that after the cleansing step my favorite skincare step is serums. Serums are unique in that they’ve really changed my skin, and are especially great for those of us with compromised moisture barriers. This is a pretty interesting serum – in that you add water on top of it. So it’s a fairly simple process, you simply take some product smooth over your face and then you add some water with your finger tips. It’s a fairly thick formula, very creamy but bouncy and most importantly – not sticky at all.
Post application you are left with smooth, plumped up skin. It’s like a your skin has been infused with water, which it kinda has been. I’ve not had any adverse reactions to it, despite having fairly sensitive skin. For me it’s the second to last step in my routine, be it a long Korean essence filled one or a quick cleanse and hydrate dash. I apply this, tap on some water and then smear on my cream. On days when I skip this I feel like my skin is less plump, and that my dehydration lines are more prominent. Unfortunately, it’s only been in my routine for a couple of weeks so I can’t report on any serious long-term skin changes.
Other than living up to it’s promises there one more thing that is awesome about this product – the packaging! It’s not as luxe as a heavy, glass container nor does it inspire the mad scientist in me with a dark bottle but it is super convenient. We’ve got a simple plastic tube with a pump, which everyone knows is superior to a jar or bottle. I find that one pump is enough for a full face application, and always make sure to close it with the little plastic cap.
All in all I’m in love with this plumping, hydrating serum – emulsion. You should try it out.
