It’s the color that’s taken over instagram, #millenialpink. It’s everywhere from homeware, to bombers to makeup so I’ve got a little round up of my favorite pink hued products to satisfy your craving from the soft pink tones. This is a universally flattering pink, it doesn’t make you feel like you’re about to look like a teeny-bopper or as if you’ve got an impending eye infection. Looking to match those new cushions you got? I’ve got you covered.
I’ll start things off with the easiest product to adopt out of all of them, nail polish. I recently added the Chanel Le Vernis in Organdi to my collection and let me tell you that is one perfect muted pink. While buying a every expensive nail polish does tend to make anyone cringe, it’s a covering for your nails essentially, if you’re going to splurge go for Chanel. The reformulated polish has a gel like texture and applies opaque in two coats on me. Compared to the previous formula it’s much much easier to use and streak free but it’s still housed in some super lux packaging that’s very much suited to instagrammaing. The Burberry Wet & Dry Silk Eyeshadow formula is one of the best out there, with some crazy good multi-dimensional pigment going on. The shade Rosewood is Pale Barley’s pink, warm but not too warm counterpart. You’ll get the same one wash that looks like 5 hours of blending that make these oh so good for lazy summer makeup. You can use the formula wet for some extra oomph if you want, but really, who’s got time for that? It’s got this little monogram embossing that matches the outer case, which is super reflective so be careful when angling your camera (or phone). Last of all there’s a lip combo that’s sure to give you so much pout you won’t know what to do with it. Starting off with Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat lip pencil in Pillow Talk, the perfect my lips but better shade to line your lips and cheat the size of them. I find that this lip pencil really helps prolong the wear time of other lip products and it’s always on hand to help me out. To top things off and make your lips even plumper the ever famous Buxom White Russian Lip Creme is sure to leave you a-tingle. Literally, since this gloss has to peppermint to make lips actually larger. This shade is a perfect light, pinky-mauve nude that works perfectly for natural toned down looks or super dramatic smokey eyes.
One slightly different, and considerably cheaper, eye option comes from the insta-crazy brand that is Colourpop. The Super Shock Eyeshadow in Wattles is a gorgeously warm nudey pink that gives a little something to the eyes with zero effort on you behalf. These little pots have a strange moussey, bouncy cream shadow that is best smeared onto the eyes with a finger and then blended out into a soft haze. To make sure we don’t neglect the cheeks I’ve got two blushes with a formula to suit everyone. It would come as no surprise that the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush in Exposed made it in since it’s the OG nude pink blush. This adds a soft flush to the cheeks without any additional sheen or sparkle, so that skincare routine you’re been putting all that effort in can shine through. Perfect for full on makeup days or no makeup days when you’re looking a little pale. My favorite way to use this is with a bit of a tan, or a healthy dose of bronzer, and a nice sheen on the cheeks with a sparkly shadow and some bright red lips. If like me, the summer time makes you grab all the cream products and looking glossy is your lifelong dream then the H&M Beauty Cream Blush in Desert Rose is the one for you. It’s a super soft formula that’s nice and creamy while still super blendable. The kind that just melts onto the skin. The packaging is super flimsy, I’ve had 2 break on me, but the super affordable price makes it well worth it. I love this patted onto the cheeks with a super light base, like the Glossier Skin Tint and a bit of cream bronzer to make me look extra healthy.
So there we go, all ready to set things up and take a few photos. Overall, this pink is a little all over the place but it’s such a good shade for beauty that I can’t fault it. Got any #millenialpink favorites to recommend? Let me know in the comments!
