I’m a sucker for skincare, there’s no disputing that. When one of my favorite skincare influencers, Gothamista aka Renée, put out a collab with Wishtrend I had to make the purchase. When you mix together wonderful products, supporting content creators, and a great deal there is nothing more can you do other than press “purchase”.
What’s in the Gothamista x Wishtrend box? Here’s the breakdown, while to offer itself is no longer available (sold out!) these products are still worth checking out. I received sample sachets for most of the items in the box so I can make a few recommendations, no doubts about it.
Cotton pads revolutionary right? Surprisingly, yes. These cotton pads are perfect for anyone who likes to DIY a little sheet mask from a toner. As you’ve got the compressed cotton for traditional toner swiping and there’s also the sponge pad for sheet masking. I’m curious to see how these perform in comparison to my favorites cotton pads from Muji.
Acid toner. Acid toner. Acid toner. Really acids are the bomb when it comes to skincare in my opinion. Using exfoliating scrubs is not a thing I do anymore and while using an exfoliating mask twice a week is great, sometimes you want something on the daily. I’ve yet to use this product but there are plenty of promising ingredients on the list and glowing reviews that make it next up on my to-try list.
Possibly the most hyped up products in this box has got to be this hydrating toner. Unlike the above acid toner, this one is far more focused on providing hydration to the skin, and boy does it do its job. So far I’ve used this two nights in a row as the toner/essence step in my routine after cleansing/acid toning/misting. You can feel how calm and soothing it is to the skin, especially in crazy weather season aka winter. I guess there’s a reason it’s so popular? Believe the hype with this one.
To me, this is like a less greasy version of Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentrate, aka my go-to moisturizer. The tube is super easy to use and the cream is very hydrating. The skin is left with a semi-matte finish which is nice a nice departure from my usual glossy finish and means the Mr. can get some use out of it too. I’m still working on polishing off a tube of the aforementioned Embryolisse but after that’s been seen too I’m all over this cream.
Probably the product I was most excited about trying – a mask with 38% honey. My skin loves honey-based products and this mask is probably it’s favorite thus far. This is a wash off type mask that you can leave on for up to an hour – totally my jam with a Netflix marathon. It’s geared for dry and sensitive skin types and hydrates, nourishes, and brightens the complexion. This is a list I check all the boxes for and after trying it out twice and can say that those promises pan out. This mask might just be a new winter-time must have for me.
Basically, this is an anti-aging serum with a lean ingredient list. There were some production issues with this product so Wishtrend pulled it from the box and promised to send it at a later date once a non-faulty batch was available. I’m looking forward to trying it out once the bottle gets here. From the product description, it seems very promising and really geared towards those in their late 20’s looking to kick start a prevention routine.
Can it be a K-beauty anything without a sheet mask? Nope. This was a bonus item Wishtrend included due to the issues with the Klairs Midnight Blue Activating Youth Drops. It’s a moisturizing, brightening sheet mask. There were two in the box and I’ve tried one on and it’s a good sheet mask! This mask is constructed of two parts which make it easier to place, and the fabric is very strange but drenched in essence. I sat with it on for about 40 minutes and could have gone well into the hour and a half mark. This is going to be great for those with dehydrated winter skin.
